About

I am an anarchist writer, organic permaculturist, woodworker, and activist. Aside from this website, my writing has been published on itsgoingdown.org, the Slingshot Collective, the Providence Journal, Fahrenheit 451 Books and Blogs (fah451bks.wordpress.com), the Red & Black Anarchists page.

I would like to stress that this website does not generate revenue nor is it intended to do so. I do this for free. In fact, I lose money maintaining this site, which is fine with me. I do not want this website to generate income. I am not selling my book right now. Unfortunately, in our capitalist world the commons have been largely privatized and means of subsistence from the land, such as hunting, fishing, foraging, and permaculture on land you don’t own without a license is illegal, and we are all forced into the capitalist marketplace because of this. Again, that is something I deal with outside of this website and keep very separate from any types of activism. I want this website to simply be a free resource to learn, share, interact, discuss, and collaborate.

I have some formal education, but I am mostly an autodidact. I loved to read and learn new things since I was a kid, and I’ve spent more time reading and researching than I’d care to admit. I studied sustainable agriculture in college and worked on the school’s garden and carpentry crews, growing food for the school and making repairs around campus. I have volunteered for nonprofit farms and gardens and grown food to donate in my own garden. But I feel in terms of praxis I’ve barely scratched the surface of what I would really like to do, and I have nothing but respect for people who take more radical actions to help make the world a little bit more free and little bit less ecocidal.

My book, Tools of Control, is still a work in progress, and I made my website to post some excerpts from the book along with articles on current events. I hope this blog and my book will create discussions about its ideas, organize like-minded individuals, and most importantly incite action.

My book is about the development of the most powerful institutions that exist right now, governments, organized religions, corporate news media, and corporations, and it chronicles how they have controlled life on Earth and created massive inequities, suffering, and environmental destruction.

Governments first claimed ownership of land, natural resources, and then people, turning human beings into property by enslaving them. The first modern corporations used slavery as well, (and their alternative, wage labor, can be nearly as exploitative, especially in poor regions). Most rulers in history also justified war, genocide, ethnic cleansing, and most extreme actions with either nationalist or religious ideologies. Historically, religion has been the most common justification for war and politicians continue to invoke it all the time. Even though it can be a great comfort for some, the centralization of powerful religious institutions and their dogma has had devastating effects on people and the planet. Religious zeal is also used by political powers to deceive people. Representatives who can appeal to religiosity tend to get elected more often, regardless of whether or not they follow through.

Governments, corporations, and organized religions have created a system that keeps wealth and power in the hands of the few. They made and continue to make rules, prisons, and borders to contain, control, and marginalize people, especially minorities. And large, corporate media organizations are tools owned by other very rich individuals they use in an attempt to justify it all to the masses.

In my book I explain almost half of the world lives on less than $2.50 per day and 80% lives on less than $10 a day. Millions of people die every year from starvation, dehydration, and easily preventable disease in undeveloped countries and these aforementioned institutions are largely to blame. But the potential is not all bleak. There are more than enough resources in the world for everyone, and if the handful of empires and their rulers who essentially control the fate of the world wanted to eliminate poverty, massive environmental destruction, starvation, disease, and even war they could do so. But they don’t because these institutions misunderstand people and the Earth we live on. They lack empathy for the world and don’t see the interconnectedness of all lifeforms and ecosystems. Many religious people see humans as equal, but the institution of organized religion has created many hierarchies and so-called “superior” authorities who are allowed much greater privileges than their followers.

Religion has become a monopoly in its own right. The Vatican City (where the Catholic Pope lives) is a self-governed state that makes its own Euros engraved with the faces of Popes. According to the Christian Bible, Jesus instructed people to revile the rich and give back to the poor, yet the very leader of Catholic Church sits in his sprawling, lavish manor while people suffer and die everyday around the world. (He has also ignored the hundreds of thousands of rapes of children by clergy in Catholic Churches across the world.) The new “liberal” pope draws attention away from those scandals.

Most people are aware that governments have committed terrible crimes against humanity and created massive inequities in history, but even in countries where freedom is considered unparalleled, there are still massive amounts of coercion, state violence, and incarceration. For example, America has the highest prison population in the world, which mostly consists of non-violent offenders and the country also has the highest per capita murder rate among developed nations, yet it is considered one of the most free countries on Earth. Imperialism has just been rebranded by corporations to seem benign. The largest corporations also make more money than many entire countries do by exploiting poor, hungry people, and most of the mainstream media and powerful religious figures ignore all of this. Instead, they focus on profit, consumption, nationalism, or other dogma.

My book explains exactly how these institutions can be destroyed and what we can do as individuals to reduce and even eliminate the world’s largest problems we face like poverty, pollution, environmental destruction, and war. It also explains how we can maximize personal freedom, and gain greater control over who we are and who we will become. The solutions aren’t ambiguous. They involve collaboration, voluntary organization, autonomy, understanding, self-sufficiency, sustainability, environmental stewardship, and sabotage of environmentally destructive projects, and more. Feel free to read the provided book excerpts on my site.

Through this website, I also want to support like-minded anarchists, organizers, activists, environmentalists, base unions, and progressive organizations by organizing them and promoting them here. If you want to be listed, leave a comment below.

  14. “The Vatican City (where the pope lives) is a self-governed state that prints its own currency.”
The Vatican has no own currency. (just coins, but these coins are euros!)

    About child abuse:
The pope made a lot of things: he wrote an open letter, there are symposiums all over the world with the victims!!!, and these were just examples.)

“…the very leader of Catholic Church sits in his sprawling, lavish manor while poor people suffer.”
agree, but you should see, that the leaders of the Chruch has diplomatic missions, and it has it’s own rules.

    Grünwald, Europe

    • You are right about the coins. I changed the article. But the Pope has shown absolute apathy towards the victims who have been abused by leaders of the Catholic Church. He has granted immunity to those convicted of molesting children and he has even blamed these crimes on secularism.

The problem is that the church has its own rules and those missions are mainly done to spread their religious ideologies and improve PR.
